Women Veterans in Rhode Island
Women Veterans in Rhode Island was a multi-month photography and story-collection project. I sent out an inquiry to photograph women veterans who lived in Rhode Island. Post-shoot, I asked the women to hand-write answers to questions about some of their military experiences. Each woman selected the location of where they wanted to be photographed and what they wanted to be photographed in. This series combines portions of their hand-written responses and portrait, making visible what is so easily overlooked an unseen - the experience of the woman veteran.
